ANU HDR Fee Merit Scholarship

• The award will be available each year to a prospective or continuing student who is an international student enrolling in an accredited HDR course of study at the University; and Has also been awarded an ANU University Research Scholarship; and Has achieved a minimum of H1 or H1 equivalent in their prior studies.

No separate scholarship application is required. All eligible candidates are automatically considered based on their application for admission and the ANU University Research Scholarship.

• Documents Required:
  • Completed application for admission to an HDR program at ANU.
  • Supporting documents as specified in the admission application, including academic transcripts, CV, research proposal, and referee reports.

• Funding Coverage:
  • Covers International Student Fees (ISF) for the duration of the award.
    For recipients holding a Student Visa (Subclass 500): Full Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the standard program duration, including coverage for immediate family members.
     
• Duration of Funding:
  • Three years for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates, with a possible six-month extension.
  • One year for Master of Philosophy (MPhil) candidates, with a possible six-month extension.

• Selection Criteria:
  • Selection is based on academic merit, research potential, and alignment of the proposed research with ANU's strategic directions.
    Applicants are ranked by ANU Colleges through a merit-based process considering academic records, research potential, referee reports, and English language proficiency.
     
• Conditions:
  • Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress.
  • The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with another fee scholarship.
  • Recipients are responsible for other administrative fees and personal study costs.
